what is this blog about?
Hookahs & Spies is a repository for this writing and includes everything from incomplete fragments to completed work that has been professionally published, and everything in-between. More than just an archive, however, this site serves as a resource for all writers, storytellers and any others with a similar interest in dark fiction that seek inspiration and ideas to use in their own ghastly tales and games. Here you will find detailed descriptions of noteworthy characters, from innocent old ladies to ghastly fiends, ready to use for your own nefarious fictions, as well as carefully imagined places to serve as setting for your plots. And if that isn’t enough please feel free to use any or all of the numerous story hooks, dastardly plots, and full-blown tales found here.
Vampires because I have published more than 270,000 words in 9 books about vampires for White Wolf Publishing. I’ve always had a penchant for the dark and supernatural, as it were, and vampires have always been an especially alluring subject for me.
Hookahs because I enjoy smoking the narghile, or hookah to and there is a mysteriously exotic element to it that I just can’t resist.
Spies because I’ve always been fascinated by spies and I live in the spy capital of the world, Washington, DC (Arlington, Virginia, to be precise). Oh, and because the Syrian and Lebanese intelligence services thought I might be one.
Hypnocity is the name under which I design iPhone applications with my partner, Harry.
